IGI query .....

Hello
can anyone please tell explain what it means when you come accross an entry that has been submitted by a LDS member and it say's the form lists the submitters name and address but the address may be outdated but you need the batch & sheet number to find the form .How do you go about trying to access it?i know sometimes that the submitters details are shown
Last night i found on the IGI a record that i am allmost 99% sure wasn't there last year .any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have conflicting answers on this one but MY UNDERSTANDING of it is.
Where the person has freely listed their name it is usually obtainable.Some submissions go back often almost a hundred years ago-like one of mine.
More up to date may be more problematic as the need to protect privacy etc comes into play.
As one who has submitted lots pre 1991 I know my name/address does not appear & would not be current.I now submit & use c/o another who I am pretty certain will not be moving in the near future.
Best bet is call/visit a LDS FHC & ask their advice &be prepared for several versions!

thankyou for replying i had kind of hoped you'd pick up on it since i have read other posts and know your a member .
The information i am talking about that i have found dosen't help me as such i already knew it and have posted it on this site .I was just a bit puzzled as to it's sudden ?appearance on the IGI .
and wondered if i could find out who placed it there and when.
The information concerns Mary Galbraith and gives both her birth & death details and parents this information had it of been there 18mths-a couple of years ago would have saved me a small fortune on searching SP i gave the information to a decendant of her's a few months ago who had placed information on the IGI which was the birth of her daughter from whom he decends and he didn't have her parents names or any knowledge of what had become of her he questioned my findings and sufice to say we didn't hit it off

and now i find my Mary and all the details on the IGI.sorry i have to leave this rant for now work calls

How rude! At least though maybe some other family members will benefit from it.Oh well you know what they say you can choose your friends-hey not even your distant family!
I have a few submissions from "other members"on both my Mothers & Fathers lines.Haven't a clue who they are except for one.
Because of their dates I am presuming they are also Church Members which is a coincidence as we always presumed it all started with my Mum.
Would love to find out as I am so nosey!
