I think if you want to raise some funds what about designing a pin. I am hoping to go to the record office tomorrow and it would be nice to perhaps put some faces to names or would that spoil the magic

Mallog I think that's a great idea. On the few occasions I've been at NRH I've looked around and wondered
I've even accosted a few people on the doorstep, with no luck! Don't think it would spoil anything - if people wanted to remain anon they either wouldn't buy, or could choose when/not to wear it.
I'm in NRH on and off over the next two weeks and if anyone wonders, I'm the wee wuman in pink!
Best wishes

Had a great day at NRH. Now that so much is on computer you don't see so many people. The woman next to me was wearing pink but I checked the shoes and they didn't fit the bill !!

Glad you enjoyed your day!
To anyone unable to get to NRH because of distance - please accept this as the only intimation of my "only-too-willingness" to do the odd look up, time and opportunity permitting
Best wishes

Great idea & I belonged to a support Group which had an elephant pin /brooch as it's emblem(as in elephants never forget!)
Anyway one day I spotted this very well-dressed lady in Kensington wearing what I thought was the emblem & plucking up my courage asked her very politelty if "she was a member of the group"
She looked at me in horror & replied "Oh no dear we are all Conservatives".
What we would use as our emblem- a gravestone?a Census Book?

Hi Joette
I agree about the pin or emblem idea and wondered if we should have a stylised Phoenix rising from the ashes?
How do you spell that word anyway? I had it looking like a painful eye condition. (the dictionary is downstairs

Spot on with the spelling & isn't it amazing how your mind goes blank on a word.
I think that is a great idea but I bet you somebody else will have it as there emblem & I bet it's copyrighted.
