On my never ending quest Googling for information on my Russell's, the corn/grain millers, I came across The Statistical Account of Lanarkshire. What a goldmine of fantastic information from the past. Thought others might find it useful. It's a very long link and unfortunately, I've no idea how to make it smaller.

Note that this is the New Statistical Account from the 1830s.
The full NSA as well as the Old Statistical Account of the 1790s can be found at http://edina.ac.uk/statacc/

Hi Anne
There is also a Third Statistical Account printed in the 1950's which updates the earlier volumes. You have to read the earlier ones to see the progress made in that county.

Hi David,
I'm glad you gave me that link to Edina. I actually have looked through the Old Statistical Accounts in the past and the link has been in "My Favourites" but I couldn't remember where I put it...I've saved it again for future reference. I'm so glad they can be viewed online...fantastic information at the click of a "mouse".
Regards,
Anne H
