LDS Suspension of Access?

Post by StewL » Thu Apr 05, 2007 8:11 am

Hello All

I am a bit flummoxed to say the least

I received this message when I tried to use LDS to do a bit of family history searching today.

"Your access to FamilySearch.org has been temporarily suspended. Your computer or a computer at your location has sent a large volume of requests to FamilySearch.org and as a result access to FamilySearch.org from this location has been temporarily suspended. Usually the suspension occurs when a computer uses software to automate requesting information from FamilySearch.org from any computer in your location. If this message appears again, contact the vendor who sold you your software to obtain the latest release."

Anyone ever had this message themselves??

I have never used any automated software to search for my lang deid yins. And although I believe you can link through my Legacy family history programme, I have never ever used it.

To say that I am flummoxed is a gross understatement.

Any ideas out there?
Stewie

I've had this message twice in the last month and, like you, have never used automated software. I immediately ran a virus check, fearing that my computer had been hijacked but no problems were found. I waited an hour and tried again to access Familysearch and everything was back to normal.

Yes, I've had this message twice in the last couple of days. I tried the search again immediately and got the info. Might be a glitch.

Elisabeth & Merlot Oh and DWW

Thanks for the response and information, I was beginning to worry about what was causing this.

Glad to see that it is a glitch with LDS :D and not my computer being hijacked. I have up to date Anit Virus and was starting to get a bit worried.

I have just experienced the same thing on trying to access the I G I page so I tried the Family search page and it stated that they
are in the process of upgrading .
It then came back as ,
"Your access to FamilySearch.org has been temporarily suspended"and all that Blah Blah Blah.

Why don't they just say they are unavailable instead of making us panic to see if we have been invaded!!!

Oh thank goodness it isn't just ME!

Oh well...I am trying to get access but it isn't having any of it. I hope the upgrade includes new records!

Maureen and Nina

I too found out about the update after tying in family search instead of using my favourite links. Pity they didnt let us all know.

But all is back to nomal again.
