Photos of small and remote villages, farms and areas
Just for your information.
This site
http://www.geograph.org.uk/
is a project to photograph every square metre of the British Isles. That means that you can often find clear photos of very specific areas as they are today, and of course they often show evidence of their history.
It can help to bring quite small areas to life, which it would otherwise be difficult to visualise without actually going there.

Now I have two photos of Toberonochy where my GGGG Grandfather and several generations of my Mc/MacDonalds were born.
Now I'm compiling a wee list of other places to look for

I can see how it easily could become obsessive.
Mind you, I can also see that there's a huge amount of information and shared knowledge here. That could make my husband happier than he was when I told him how much I'd spent so far downloading records from SP

I know, Mary. I've read some of your posts this evening, and know you're practically a resident on TS
I've found lovely photos of places that were no more than farm names on the census. It makes the past much more solid to me when I can see the setting where the people lived and worked.
