birth at cape of good hope .....

i am trying to trace a mckay family,in particular a catherine mckay,born cape of good hope, 1811. she is in the 1871 census as married to alexander murray and living in dornoch, sutherland. anyone any knowledge of records i can access in south africa.??

Hello Ian

South African research is definitly not the easiest place to research and most of it is fee based and i havnt found anything of help searchable on line - yet. I did contact a researcher on the link below and within minutes she got back to me with information that was enough to spur me on. That bit was free but if i wanted more i would have to pay her charges.
