Caroline, I hadn't seen those records. Were you able to see those online? If so, can you post the link, please? I am fairly sure they are likely to be ones I am looking for.

Thank you so much to all who have advised here. The people are related, but are not actually a direct family group. Bernard may be in a family lair, though not his own direct family, due to circumstances of his death. He died in a children's refuge in Glasgow after his father was killed in France in WW1. His mother had moved away and had re-married at the time of the child's death. It's possible he may be in a lair with some of his mother's relatives, or perhaps with some relatives of his father.

Hi there,

They are on Scotland's People under the Catholic Registers. Have you registered with this website? It is a pay-per-view site but in comparison with other sites is not as expensive.

They have a Bernard Scanlan with the date 20/12/1928 (which I assume maybe the burial date) aged 11 years and Mary Scanlan with the date 18/7/1899 aged 65 years both at St Peter's Dalbeth Cemetery. If you register with the website you will be able to see if they have any more details by downloading the entries. I have found with my RC relatives at that cemetery that sometimes there is more info and sometimes there isn't. Mine also do not have a headstone :( The registers only go up to 1955 so can't check Thady but you might be able to find out with the cemetery direct and nothing is coming up for Owen for that year.

Hope this helps,

Carolineasb

Thanks again, Caroline. Yes, I am a member of Scotland's People. That is where I got the death details of my ancestors, but I hadn't thought of checking the RC register. I will check that out and get more information. I am from Dundee, but now live in the north of Scotland. If I can help anyone with photos etc of gravestones in and around Inverness-shire, please don't hesitate to ask.
