Cause of death given -

Post by Alan SHARP » Thu Feb 24, 2011 2:14 am

Greetings All.

In a recent NZSG Library visit, I captured several hundred details for a SHARP register I'm preparing, for the environs of Glasgow. Though I've spent hundreds of hours supporting family and friends with their hospital clinics and stays, I'm scratching my head with the following causes, noted on the WinBsearch Burials Indexes for c1800.

"Water in Head" "Chincough" "Chin Cough" "Stopping"

There were several for each of the above so I presume they are not one off originals.

Any suggestions for a more modern terminology ?

Thank you for the fast replies. Only had time to check that the material captured, and transported home, would open up on my computer. Had not got as far as a Google check.

Maureen your link was exactly what I was after. A link to that information could well be locked into the library, if public domain material.
