Cemeteries in Aberdeen.....

Post by Tracey » Fri Dec 09, 2005 11:33 pm

Good evening all

I have been trying to find a cemetery close to Bedford Road Aberdeen (Rubislaw district in 1921 ). My Aunt who lives in the U.S bought her children over years ago to show them from whence they hailed. She took them to the house in Bedford Road and then i am 100% sure she said they walked from there to the Churchyard where my grandmothers sister is buried. I have googled and looked at Aberdeen.gov web site and cant see anything. I have a map somewhere and cant find it

Any help or pointers in the right direction appreciated

Hi Tracey,

The following map from 1928 shows two cemeteries quite close to Bedford Road. The nearest is St Peters Cemetery, and the other is Trinity Cemetery.

Hi Tracey,

Bedford Road is towards the north-west of that map. St Peters Cemetery is central on the map. Trinity Cemetry is further east, close to what I think is Pittodrie - the home of Aberdeen Footbal Club.

All the best,

Andrew Paterson
