MI's Aberdeen City.....

Post by Ted » Mon May 08, 2006 1:46 pm

Hi Folks

Does anyone know if MI's are available for graveyards in Aberdeen City (preferably on a search engine) - to cover the period 1851 - 1855?

Thanks lots

Ted

Hi Ted,

The people to contact would be Aberdeen & North East Scotland Family History Society. You will find a link to their website on the TalkingScot "societies" page (click on the tab above this forum). They list the MIs that they have published - some of them are in Aberdeen city.

I am not aware of any of them being available online.

All the best,

AndrewP

A few minutes later - now I have read your other post regarding Huntly MIs, I see you have already been to the A&NEFHS website.

Hi Andrew

Thanks anyway - also apologies for not making it clear in this posting that I had already checked out ANEFHS. I was kind of hoping that there was something available on-line. Just have to do it the hard way now!

Thanks lots

A day's expedition to the SGS Library in Victoria Terrace in Embra could possibly be worthwhile, - is the rail line open yet ? , - but best first to email them and ask what relevant MI records they hold ......... not only are their Scottish MI holdings among the best in the world, there are also some unpublished MI listings ......... for contact details see http://www.scotsgenealogy.com/ ...........

Hi David

Smart thinkin' Batman - forgot all about them - been there before to look up their OPR records - really nice helpful people. I'll give them a call so see what they have on MI's for the frozen north.

Nae rail link yet so I'll have tae get the old pony and trap out of the barn

Thanks lots
