Missing deaths of Robert McMillan and Agnes

I have searched everywhere for the deaths of Robert Shaw McMillan b1850 in Partick, Glasgow, and his wife Agnes - nee Harley - b1852 in Edinburgh. They are on the 1911 census living at 37 Apsley Road, Partick and are mentioned on the 1916 marriage details of two of their children - Robina and also John - with no mention of 'deceased'.

I have tried Scotlands People, looking in England, incase they had gone visiting, and also arrivals in Canada to see if they had gone to visit their son Robert in Vancouver. It seems strange that I can find neither of their records. Any suggestions?
