I had a wee go:

10 july 1645
? to Wm Neilson Culloder ( could it be callender ? ) and
Jonet Mackavon? a ?? ( L S for lawful son ??? ) Thomas
w (itnesses?) Thomas Asynt? Thomas Nicole
James Robison? Jen can't make this line out at all

? to Wm Peacock weaver & Lilias
M?a a ? ? ( same 2 letters again ) Thomas w(itnesses ) Thomas
Millar? ??Peacock

That could all be entirely wrong !

I just checked the IGI ( after I had a go at the translation ! )

and they give Jonet's surname and Mackawn
and Lilias surname as Murra .

I am intrigued as to what your William Neilson's occupation was - do you know ?

I'm not as brave as Sally so I'll just comment on hers. Those initials A. S. N.? might stand for 'a son named'. I suppose the 'Culloder' bit is an occupation – maybe carpenter? or something. Do both entries start 'Born to ......?

Hi all

Thanks for having a go at this chicken scrawl

Sorry for not replying sooner but I didnt receive any email notifications, and that is a bit of a first for me

IGI and the BVRI Cd's have his parents down as William Neilson and Janet (Jonet) MacKawn, as for the rest in the image you lot have done a lot better than me, it took me a while to work out he was second last on the overall list.

I will have a look at the link to Scottish handwriting later.

All on the list begin with Bapt to although a couple further down the list begin with some other bit of chicken scrawl  Yes I also think ASN is a son named as it appears they also have AGN or AFN?

But thanks to all anyway it is not an easy bit of writing to decipher.
