Hi Frances
Locheads must provide good service if they've managed to stay in business all this time.
A good number of my lot were buried by Lochhead and Lochhead in Glasgow. The burial records for the company are held at GUAS and make very interesting reading e.g. when the body was collected from the home, what colour of horse drew the hearse, length of the coffin, how many pounds of biscuits were eaten at the "do" afterwards etc.

The company also made furniture - my mother still has a Lochhead & Lochhead dresser.

best wishes
Lesley

JustJean,
I have seen the same thing. It won't have been a Glasgow record in my case, so I think it was probably from Edinburgh. It was included in a search results list of OPR births, but was rather conspiciously out of place. I did report it, without getting a very useful reply, but the explanation given to you may well have applied in this case, too. There were certainly a number of cases of infant mortality listed and those may have included still births.
Regards,

Morgano
