It is more likely that they are in "secretary hand" rather than Gaelic.

I stumbled upon this interesting little book the other day. It’s worth a look just for the flourishes.

Fascinating book, Alan! I like some of the titles, too, such as No. 73 "Rather riotous flourish work."

Some of them are quite spectacular, not to mention ridiculous. I think some of those Penmen must have been getting paid by the inch.
