Hi Leanne
Have you tried a search for him in the 1851 census? He should still be young enough to be with his parent(s)

The census can be searched at www.freecen.org (check that the area you are interested in has been transcribed first) www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk (pay per view site, but you can search to find out if the name/age combination you are looking for is there before coughing up) or www.ancestry.co.uk (subscription site)

If you have already looked for him and can't find him, please give us a shout and we'll try to help.

Best wishes
Lesley

Hi Leanne,
There are a few things that might give you trouble trying to locate the family in 1851: Kildrummy is online on FreeCen for 1851, but Towie is not... which is where they happen to be if I have it right. If this is the family in 1851, it looks like Elizabeth has died and John has remarried. There is a gap in the ages of the children that would support that, and also the new wife is too young to be the mother of Peter:

1851
Clashnewie, Towie, Aberdeenshire
John Clark, 34, Head, born Towie, Aberdeenshire, Farm Servant
Mary Clark, 24, Wife, born Glenbucket, Aberdeenshire, Farm Servants Wife
Peter Clark, 13, Son, born Kildrummy, Aberdeenshire, Scholar
Twins Thomas Clark, Son, born Kildrummy, Aberdeenshire, Scholar
Twins Ann Clark, 7, Daughter, born Kildrummy, Aberdeenshire, Scholar
Helen Clark, 1, daughter, born Kildrummy, Aberdeenshire

Hope this will help you continue the search!
All the best,
Sarah
