According to Wikipaedia ...
Earley is a town in Berkshire, England with a population of around 30,000 people. It lies to the east of the large town of Reading, and runs directly into it. It is part of the Wokingham district. In some usages, the name is spelt Erleigh and even Erlegh. Earley itself consists of a number of subordinate areas, including Maiden Erlegh and Lower Earley.

Could she have come from England? Maybe her occupation would give a clue.

or might it have been Airlie in Angus?

There is a birth for an Elizabeth Culbert in Airlie, Angus in 1777 parents James and Issabel Rob.

Would this be your girl?

Hello Again

Thanks for all the replies, never thought about Airlie and I live not too far from there!! I had a look at Earley down south but in 1795 I thought it unlikely.
Away to have a look at the IGI Airlie :?

Thanks Again

Hi
A quick check on the IGI at the marriage entry for Airlie 19 April 1795 and the entry for St Andrews 17 April 1795 :D so I think its a cert that Elizabeth came from Airlie, but what was she doing in St Andrews :?:
Away to check SP now

Thanks again

Perhaps it was that William was in Airlie :D The banns in both parishes, but the marriage presumably in Airlie - being the later date? Do you have his occupation?

Hi Trish
In the Airlie OPR it does say "in their parish" so I take it that they were in St Andrews, don't know what his occupation was as I have not found them on the 1841 census and it is not stated on any of their family's birth entry as far as I can see.
There is however an Alexander Cuthbert and Family in Ferry Port on Craig, could be a connection maybe.

All the Best
