I wonder if anyone with access to the OPR indices could tell me what the transcriber made of an entry in the Morton, DFS, births OPR for 28 May 1692.
The entry seems to read: Helen Hamilton, Relict of Mr Patrick Flint, min of this Parish had a daughter baptized called Grizzel
The IGI uses the surname Flint but the online OPR cannot find it, so I wonder if the transcriber thought the father's name was something else.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi burnbanks
Using the free search at SP:
http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
there seems to be a Grissel Flint born on 28th May 1692 in Morton Dumfriesshire.
Was this the "online OPR" you were referring to, or was it elsewhere? I suspect the transcription problem may be the double s/double z perhaps?
Best wishes
Lesley

Grizzel Hamilton
Thanks Lesley,
Yes, I should have used an * when searching!
The mother's name is clear enough on the film (which I got elsewhere) but the father's is not and I wanted to know what SP made of it.
Now I know! Thanks
Do you know, incidentally, if being called 'Mr' Patrick Flint means he was a minister of the parish?
