Help required for birth record

Post by runepriest » Mon Oct 13, 2008 1:01 am

Hey all:

I am having issues with the following image:

http://talkingscot.com/gallery/displayi ... ?pos=-1659

On the left hand side, there is a street in Forfar that I can't decipher.

In the column under David Black, I have the first 3 lines figured out; I just can't decipher the last line.

If anyone knows these locations, or has any suggestions, I am deeply grateful for any assisstance.

Thanks in advance.

Brian,

How about Spout Street. Last line under David Black looks like Tannadice to me.

Here is Spout Street: http://www.nls.uk:8080/StyleServer/calc ... ugin=false.

Go straight to the middle of the map and find Castle Street, then follow that northwards. It becomes Spout Street.

Hi Brian:

I'd read it as Tannadice, too.

Hey all:

Paddyscar, morgano, speleobat, thanks for the quick replies.

This is one of the reasons I love this site :)

These are, indeed, the names I am looking for.

Thanks again.

Well, you learn something new everyday!

I currently live in Forfar, Spout Street is called something else now - and that map is fabulous!
That will keep me busy for hours!
