I think the name of one of the first witness in the last entry might be Alex[ander], but it's quite hard to make out. Thought the other name was Laurence but again just not sure and I have no idea what that last word is - it doesn't look like Lennox I don't think.

Hi Archiver
Yes, you are right the second last word does look like it might be Laurence... I'm not 100% sure of ANY of the words in that entry!
I think the wording I've put is in the right order i.e. so-and-so son of X baptised, witnesses etc. It is not easy to make out any of the other entries on the page in their entirety either so that we could see what form and sequence of wording or what variations are typically used by that session clerk, which is usually a help.

Best wishes

Hello Dennis,

It may be my imagination but those images look a bit “fuzzy” and the file sizes seem to be a bit on the small side. Possibly your options in SP are to download jpgs at a high rate of compression. Compression “damages” jpg images. Try setting compression to lowest at the bottom of the My Details page on SP and see if that improves things. It’s usually best to have this set to lowest unless you’re having very serious problems with download times and disc space.

It won’t necessarily make the image more readable but may improve its quality.

All the best,
Alan

I checked 'My Details.
The images were already set at lowest compression.

Hi Dennis

It's just the bloomin' writing on that last one...nothing "high tech" about that problem, just awful handwriting!!!! Looks like the guy was permanently in a hurry! A stressed Session Clerk

Best wishes
