I was wondering if my Greenlees-Peat marriage would be recorded in the session minutes of the church as they were rebucked in 1804 (cant remember the date off hand) and then had to remarry in 1814.
Does anyone know if it would be recorded and if so what sort of detail will be involved?
Also if I contacted NAS would they look up if I had a specific date or would it be worth going myself at one point and having a look?

Absolutely, that there will be 99%+ a reference in the kirk session minutes, but it's a complete lottery in terms of the level of detail.
At worst just a few words on the basis that John SMITH and Jeannie McDONALD were properly rebuked for a irregular marriage or whatever, but nothing much more ............
(Even worse, - I've seen, - the kirk session minutes being - "This day the session met", - and nothing more !!...... Arrggghhhhh....... this in the context of a series of previous session meetings with much info of relevance!)
.....through to every last salacious detail of the situation as recorded in the kirk session minutes .....................

David,
This is the original topic with a link to the OPR image. The couple I presume were remarried after the birth of their son in October, with them remarrying in November of 1814.

Do you reckon it is worth viewing the records anyway even if they do not contain much information?
Also what other information would be included within the records?
I would also like to know if a mistake in the OPRs would be noted? The son to this couple is down as John Thorburn Greenlees when in the 1841 census and he is William. Also his death certificate has the above parents. What we (cousins and I) believe is that the witness may have been John Throburn and the minister made a mistake at writing it down.
Edit: forgot to include the link.
