OPR Marriage -Help

Post by Pandabean » Sat Apr 28, 2007 3:09 pm

Just wondering if you could help me with the top entry of this OPR Marriage. Some words are proving difficult to decipher properly. So far I have:

Newton ??? 24th May 1778
---- ----- ---- ---- of being summoned compeared Peter Johnston and Pringle Clark and ---- that day were ---- married. The session appealed that day should be ---- (------)

Awaiting approval of image.

Thanks,

Hi Andy,

I think...

Newton KIRK 24th May 1778
?? DIE IN CONSEQUENCE of being summoned compeared Peter Johnston and Pringle Clark and ACKNOWLEDGED that THEY were CLANDESTINELY married. The session AGREED that THEY should be REBUKED (?? AS ABOVE)
