Yes Okay,
However, isn't it good to help someone into the realms of IGI.
David has already done the business. If suzyq1998 really doesn't have the ability to pay for Scotlandspeople BUT does have a new found knowledge of IGI shouldn't we take her back to the FREE IGI
(if someone else doesn't I'll do it on my OWN paid account).
suzyq1998 has asked for some help, Davie (and loads of others) CAN find out the stuff, however I really think if we can get "Newbies" interested we should magically take people back to Pre-1874 when IGI can be useful.
Think we all know the chancers!!!!
Can anyone tell me....

Hi Suzy, I don't have any credits at the mo but if you can wait I am going to New Register House in Edinburgh over the Christmas / New Year holidays and I will happily get you a bit further. I work the same hours as it's open so I have to wait til I get holidays to get more searching done.

Thank you everyone for your help....does anyone know if they accept a debit card from Canada?? I know in the US they have a VISA debit/crdit card but they are not able to use it as a debit card over here it automatically goes through as a credit charge. I found the site ok but had a hard time finding ANY records as I really only have one date and at first it kept telling me there were no matches. Can someone tell me which records I should be looking up?
Thanks
Thanks

Hi Suzy:
Have you checked out what is available at your local public library? Reference staff are very helpful and knowledgeable - even with foreign records.
Ask there about a local genealogy group - the members are usually very very willing and helpful and can possibly show you in a hands-on way how to get around the online databases.
Meanwhile, I'll have a look at my sources based on what you have posted, although they are not primarily Scottish sources, and see what I can find (will be out this evening, so it won't be until tomorrow).
Frances
P.S. I've sent you a PM (personal message). You must be logged in, to view it. Then click on the FORUM tab at the top of the page. Under the >Profile > Search>Memberlist>Usergroups>FAQ>Login/Out boxes, a line saying you have new mail will appear. Click on that and you will be able to read it and respond.
