Hi Christine
The Wilkies seem to live around the Eastwood/Pollokshaws/Gorbals areas and the Wilkinsons in the Anderston/Partick area (although originally from around Campbeltown somewhere)

Hope this helps

Wonder if the BBC Radio Scotland programme has anything to do with that !!

Good listening David, and nice to put a voice to the name.
Although I feel that sometimes the presenter is a bit quick to move on whilst someone is in the middle of answering a question
Case in point last week.... when you were cut off in mid-stream when explaining the mine of information that can be found on a Poor Relief application (well done for getting the point across on your next shout).

BTW... has anyone noticed that ITV have brought out their own highly original show where celebrities research their ancestors?
I think it's called "I can't believe it's not WDYTYA" :-k

McIntyre, Menzies, Cowley, Pearson, Copland, McCammond, Forbes, Edgar etc. in Scotland

I can only agree, but the presenter and the producer, on the other side of the glass screen, want it to be very snappy !! ............ they're desperately afraid that listeners will lose interest and switch stations if there is too much detail!, - never mind that they've always so far aimed to include too much in each programme, so that they're always under time pressure !!, as am I, but then I just do what I'm told [5 cups] [5 cups] ...............

At least one major item has been dropped from the running order each week so far

I'm learning !!

And how about the Kirrimuir "murder" when, only 10 seconds into the pre-agreed 90 seconds tale, I was given the "you've only got another 10 seconds" signal from the presenter :?: :!:

Hi Karen
To spare David's blushes and to avoid any possible accusation of self promotion
Digging up your roots is on Radio Scotland at 12.05 on Sundays
Well worth a listen :)
