Based on their "pseudoscience", David, Brian Johnston, my Dad and my Grandfather are all related!

Hey !!

That means the society (invent an appropriate name accordingly :!: ) now has 4 members, 1 or 2 posthumous :!:

joette wrote:I agree but why did I make myself late for work by watching this tripe this AM & boo my eyes out at the end??
Ah dinna ken !, but therein may well lie the target audience for this utter trash.

But what about the other two "candidates" who were never such, as it was long since known which of the three "candidates" was the connection, well before transmission.
joette wrote:It got me in the heart as this lad adopted at six months who had searched for his birth parents for years was "happily reunited" with his Mother.

I know they recieve counselling & he rightly "knew" who his Mother was from first look but I feel that it is not only ill-concevied from a Genealogical viewpoint but I fear it is also praying on the emotions of those in a very vulnerable, desperate position.
Quite !!

You've got it in one !!
joette wrote:I can bend the top joint of my fingers & keep the rest of my finger straight-none of my siblings can-any rellies out there???
You are therefore, according to Gene Detectives, related to everyone else who can do this !!, including me, BTW, who can manage a right angle bend with the top joints of several fingers on both hands, but, in particular, the third finger on my left hand ..................

Hi Muriel

Very sadly, I'd just have to agree in terms of cruelty and abuse; not least in terms of the manner in which potentially very vulnerable people have been cruelly and quite unnecessarily abused.

Vincent van Gogh could do that as well, and put it in either earhole!

 .....hand me the box of tissues please :!:

Seriously for a moment....there are times I often wonder what I might be possibly missing by spending so much time online chasing down genealogical pursuits and not watching television. At times like this though I'm comforted that I'm making the wisest choice with my time. I don't think the US has invented a genealogy based television series yet but could be wrong. This one of yours sounds more akin to a badly scripted soap opera. Surely you serous minded folk "over there" shouldn't stand idly by and let them malign the good name of Scottish genealogy :!: All chant together now..... Letters to the editor....letters to the editor.....letters to the editor

Best wishes

In the light of your comments it was, in comparison, smooth, well considered and utterly professional.

Helpmaboab indeed !!

This ability, i.e. ear waggling, - in which I am an absolute top expert, - therefore means that that thee, your hubbie, and me are therefore related ......

David

Obviously so, surely, given the "science" presented in BBC1's "Gene Detectives", or have I got it wrong somewhere :?: :?:

That thought had crossed my mind as well, David. How cruel is that?

 Unless, of course, they are not really "potential rellies" at all, but are drawn from the multitudes of out-of-work actors to "add to the suspense"

Yeeuuch! It couldn't be!

Could it?!!!

Hi Muriel

Very sadly, I just have to agree with your comments in terms of the resultant abuse.
