Where can I find death records pre 1855?

The wrong page comes up when you select the result above. The page you need is three back from there, costing a further 15 credits to reach. You should submit a contact form to ScotlandsPeople telling them that the wrong page comes up.

I had a similar situation: EXACT date of a birth given on the LDS site (submitted), but record not found when I searched ScotlandsPeople for the SR. I turned to TalkingScot for help and someone from the User Group tracked the record down for me. It was not indexed. I sent a message to SP and then to GROS. I got a polite reply but no offer to "reimburse" the credits that I had wasted in my futile searches.

Recently I found an OPR record that was indexed, but the "image" page was wrong. It was only one page over from the page I needed so it was easy to figure out and I found my record. I didn't bother to try getting credits back.

I guess that these errors are a reminder that we live in an imperfect world... and that the User Group folks on TalkingScot are great!

I realised that I had put in the name Janet as wife and since she was recorded as Jane its no wonder that I had problems!!

Re SP and refunds.
I went on the site yesterday to search for the death and marriage of John Hill.
Both images were wrong, ie the wrong page was shown.
I contacted them and within the hour I had a reply with the correct image.
So that was excellent service.
