Hi kenspeckle,
Thank you for the information and address. I appreciate everyones help on TalkingScot.
I did find Christian Fraser's father was Andrew but, not his marriage or her brothers and sisters.

Re: Help find James Moffat
The info is from Scottish Church Records not avail on internet you get some info on LDS web on births marriages ect and then find more on the CD that are not on web site it is avail to search at the family history centres
ie
the records contained on the Scottish Records CD cannot be made available for public purchase.
This is due to contractual agreements with Scotland. Only Family History Centers are allowed to own and use the Scottish Church Records on CD-ROM.
Its a very good resource

I did wonder where you got the information from.
There is a Family History Society here, so, I'll give the a visit and see what I can find.

Re: Help find James Moffat
Hi kenspeckle,
I have been trying for sometime to find William & Christian's death details. I understand there are no death entries for Annan, before 1855. Scotlands People told me this. So, I may never find my GGG Grandparents deaths, which is a shame.
I have their son, James Moffat's death entry for 1857 which tells me his parents were deceased.
William Moffat and christian Fraser married 10 September 1796 in the Parish of AnnanWilliam Moffat & Christian Fraser
John Christening 19 Jun 1815 Dumfries Dumfries
Andrew Christening 17 Feb 1818 Dumfries Dumfries
no record of parents marriage

Re: Help find James Moffat
Hello Lesley,
I have checked The MOFFAT WILLIAM 15/01/1851 BLACKSMITH AT ANNAN DUMFRIES SHERIFF COURT SC15/41/9.
Unfortunately, this William was married to a Janet Irving. He died 1849 aged 64 - born 1785. My William was born 1772. Does seem strange though, there were two William Moffat's - Blacksmiths - Annan.
I have written to the Vicarage in Gretna as they have some church records for Annan:
Records—
Baptisms 1845–1854
Marriages 1843–1854
Burials 1845–1854
Have nothing to lose by asking.
