Hi everybody,
I wonder if anyone can help me find a marriage cert. I am tidying up my Beveridge lot as i don't think i can go back further until i physically get to Fife.
I have noticed that i don't have the marriage cert for the following
John Beveridge born 04/1/1726 married Margaret Deal or Dale b.1730
Children
Andrew Beveridge 16.11.1752 in Dunfermline
Barbara Beveridge 15.02.1755 “ “
Jean Beveridge 18.04.1758 “ “
John Beveridge Jnr 26.05.1763 “ “
John Beveridge 24.01.1765 “ “ my line
Margaret Beveridge 07.10.1766 “ “
George Beveridge 15.03.1772 “ “
*John Beveridge also listed 23.02.1750 also listed
As it must have been a while ago i assume i got the info from the LDS but now as i look at my file i don't have the parish record.
I had 8 credits left and i was going to search it then print the copy, but alas i can't find it and have used up 5 credits. I will buy more to print it but i just can't find them.
If someone can help i would appreciate it. He was born in Inverkeithing.
Thanks,
Ailsa

Hi Ailsa,
Do you have the above births from SP? Just wondering, since they are all submissions on the IGI, not extracts. Could be the records don't exist, and the marriage record might not as well...?
There are a number of John Beveridge marriages to Margaret around the right time, but none with the surname of Deal/Dale. There is one extract on the IGI with no woman's name at all: JOHN BEVERIDGE FEB 1748 Dalgety, Fife, Scotland. Does that one show up on SP with a name?
All the best,
Sarah

Hi Sarah,
I only have George's birth as he is my gt gt gt grandfather here is the search from TS
19/08/1804 BEVERIDGE GEORGE JOHN BEVERIDGE/ANN GIBSON FR2622 M Dunfermline /FIFE 424/ 0080 0575
I have printed it but it only says the names as above. Maybe the didn't marry but i think they would have if some of the kids were christened.
I have assumed it was there by the above info but i think i got sidetracked with the american discovery. (By the way i have sent 4 letters of to a few hopeful Beveridges in USA - i am awaiting some action!).

Hi AIlsa
The births you have listed above are on IGI and all seem to be submiissons as mentioned by Sarah. It seems some are apparently taken from the Associated Congregation, Dunfermline- it is very unlikley that they will be on SP as this Church was not standard Church of Scotland. The same may be true of the marriage.
There are probably LDS films of the records from this Church - you could ask and you may be able to order the film from your local LDS Family history centre.
best wishes
Lesley

Sarah ND,
Sorry about the confusion Sarah, that was just to show the link how i found George's parents on SP.
I have just printed the birth cert of John 1765 off SP. I am quite excited as although it doesn't say much more than the usual it does say
John Beveridge Weaver burges(not sure) of Dunfermline had a son born to him of his wife Margaret Dale January 24th baptized 27th named John, witnesses James Beveridge shoemaker in Dunfermline and Adam Beveridge Weaver there.
If Adam and James were John's brothers this could help me trace John's mother and father and his siblings. Do you think this would be his brothers?
The marriage in Dalgetty 1748 says John and name unknown FR1427. I wonder why the name was unknown -

After printing off the birth cert of John i felt certain that i could find John and Margaret Dale's marriage cert but i could not. Maybe as you say they belonged to a different church at the time of their marriage and had changed churches when the children were born.
Thanks for helping,
Ailsa
