I keep going back to this one but still can't come up with her christening in the OPR's.
Christian McDonald born c1825. Parents were Alexander McDonald and Helen/Ellen Douglas/s.
Three of her siblings were christened Dull, Perth - Cath. 1818; Eliz. 1820; Alex. 1826. Another, John c1829 is not to be found either.
In 1841 she was with her mother and siblings in Logiealmond, Perth.
In 1851 [now married] her birthplace was given as Fossaway, Perth and in 1881, Fortingill.
I think that I have tried wildcards until it is almost impossible to read any name at all but there may just be something I am missing. I have also looked at Hugh Wallis's material for Dull but nothing there either.
Perhaps I have been looking for too long and can't see the wood for the trees.
Please can someone see where I am going wrong?
Thanks,
Rae

Hi Rae:
No luck for me either, but there are several records of Christian and Alexander having a daughter Christian, but none of those mothers was surnamed Douglas/s; or I would have suggested that she may have called herself Ellen/Helen.

Hello Rae,
I don't find it surprising that you can't find a birth on the OPR's.
I have a couple, one from Skye and one from Old Monkland.
The other siblings are there and I can't think of any explanation why one child would not have been baptised.wini

Thank you, Frances, for having a fresh look at it for me. Like everyone who is having difficulty finding a record there are times when I think that I must be missing something simple.
I have looked through my tree and notes but her mother is definitely Helen/Ellen Douglas/s.
Wini, thanks for the reply. It is strange why this happens in families where the majority were baptised but perhaps there were factors happening in the family at the time about which we know nothing.
