Scotland's People help

Post by Geoff Rogers » Thu Oct 16, 2008 6:08 pm

Hello

I've been on the Scotland's People website and the baptism index shows - DAV. SIM/MARY THOM FR134. Can anyone tell me what the FR134 might mean please.

Thanks

Hello Geoff

Hope this is of some help...............

What does "FR530" mean listed after a name on an OPR results page?
This is the frame number, which establishes the position of an old parish register entry on the microfilm of the original. Sometimes entries were not recorded in chronological order in the original parish register, e.g. parents might choose to baptise all their children on the same day. If you were looking for the original entry on microfilm, and were unable to find it at the given date, you would use the frame number (found at the top of each page) to locate the entry.
Scotland - Donaldson / Moggach / Shaw / Geddes / Sim / Gray / Mackie / Richards / Joel / Coull / Mckimmie / Panton / McGregor
Ireland and Scotland - Casey / McDade / Phillips / McCandle / Dinely / Comaskey + various spellings
