Although this is normally a quieter time at NRH, it would appear that it is just as necessary to reserve a seat in advance of your visit than it would be during the summer months. To reserve a seat (and avoid the disappointment of travelling a fair distance and not getting in!), the telephone number is 0131 314 4433/4449/4450.

Planning to visit NRH?
It would appear that around 10 to 12 seats have been removed from the West Search Room in New Register House.

On my way, from misery to happiness.

Hi Tafkam,
I was in NRH yesterday. As I arrived mid-morning and had no booking, most of the seats were taken and I ended out in the South Search Room (upstairs) where the seats are much closer together than the East or West Search Rooms. The South was mostly full, I presume that means the East and West were completely full. Given the choice, I would go for the East or the West before the South.
All the best,
AndrewP

Changing the subject
Saw it last year, going back for "2nd time around" next week. And normally I don't like musicals at all. Nae time for them usually, but I can make a very large exception for the Proclaimers and the absolutely brilliant Dundee Rep Ensemble. =D> =D> =D>
Best wishes
Lesley
