Happy Chrissy treat for all the Aussies on List

I got this info from my Librarian in here Tassie as I had requested that they get Gale 19th Century British Library newspapers on line here in Tassie as the NSW library had it for NSW residents ........ they tried it and liked it but budget would not stretch regards Lesley in Tassie


Registration with the National Library of Australia is available to anyone residing in Australia http://www.nla.gov.au/getalibrarycard.
Resources included in the NLA access are the 19th Century British Library newspapers http://www.nla.gov.au/app/eresources/item/3303 and 17th-18th Century Burney collection newspapers http://www.nla.gov.au/app/eresources/item/3304 and London Times

Thanks Lesley,

That’s a very timely reminder of the existence of this great free resource for Australian residents. The Origins network is also worth a mention with the 1841, 1861 and 1871 England/Wales census complete with images plus a collection of other English and Irish databases but not a single one Scottish.
