Hi, I know I was just on about a week or two ago. I just want to put a post just incase someone might come on and recognize some of the names. My grandmother was Lilly Craig Cunningham, I was told to take note of her middle name, her dad's last name may of been a Craig or it could of been his given name. My grandmother was born in Jan 18, 1889 back at Wilson Land, Crossgates, Bellshill, mother of a milkmaid Agnes Cunningham who was born 1856 in West Lothian. It looks like she married a John Weir in 1875, at some point he had gone off to Tmpico, Mexico and no mention of him from that time on. Agnes had three children, Margaret Cunningham who was born in 1884 and Elisabeth Cunningham who was born in 1887. They all had different dad's. Maybe someone reading this post might recognize or have information in regards to Lilly Cunningham. It is my understand that Elisabeth's dad kept her, and that is why she did not come to Canada with her two sister's as mentioned above. You may even be a relative of her and perhaps she may of said something, her sisters were at Quarriers before coming to Canada. If you have any information about my grandmother Lily I would appreciate a reply. Thank you.

Can you tell us the names of the parents of Agnes Cunningham born in 1856 in West Lothian? Also whereabouts in West Lothian was she born?

I have a number of Cunninghams in my tree who are from West Lothian.

The connection with West Lothian was transitory. While Agnes was born in 'Whitstone', probably 1854, all her siblings, 1 elder, 5 younger up to the 1871 census, were born in N Lanarkshire where her father John CUNNINGHAM came from.

The West Lothian connection is presumably though her mother Elizabeth WALLACE, her place of birth being Livingston.
