Hi Bruce,
It was mentioned before nearly a year ago, but it never hurts to bring these resources back to the top of the list and remind people who may not have caught the first reference! It's a brilliant site.

A site search reveals that some 16 posts have previously discussed the Horse Tax, something that I was unaware of until KennethM brought it up a couple of months ago. Another valuable tool to place a person of interest at a particular spot, in the year of the tax. As more than one person was paying the tax at many farms, one can assume from the number of horses involved, as to how big a way they were in, when offering services with working horses.
