WHERE WAS SHE BORN:ANN WADDELL NEE GRAHAM .....

Post by joette » Wed Sep 14, 2005 11:19 am

:?: I am trying to find the Birthplace of Ann Waddell nee Graham. She died Dollar,Clackmannanshire18th March 1862 in Old Town. Her Parents are listed as Thomas Graham-Ploughman & Isabella Graham nee Black.
They(ANN&ALEXANDER) lived in Perth where their daughter Jean was born. Iam not sure of their Marriage place, date but Alexander Waddell was born Edinburgh according to his son John(My GGRandfather) He & his younger brother William were both born Dollar. My GGrandpa was 4/5 when his Mother died & 12? when his Father died-having problems with his Death Certificate but that is another story!!!!
I have tried the IGI,OPR without success- is this just something I have to forget? I am a hereditary nosey parker so I dont want to I would love to find any siblings etc

Thanks so much for your prompt reply.I dont think this is them because she was born circa 1821 which would be a long gap but stranger things have happened. I think she was a Perthshire lass as their eldest? child Jean was born there & I have a feeling but no written proof they married there too(long story but most of my original research was lost & I am retreading old ground.) I never think to vary spelling & will try spelling change on IGI &OPR.
Thanks from a transplanted Bankie.

Hi Joette

Wish I could help out but the only piece of advice I have is for you to get to your local FHC and order in the census for 1861 that contains Dollar, Clackmannanshire on it. If the two boys were born there and she died there in 1862 then I bet she was there in 1861 and it's got to say something as a place of birth for her. It's either that or wait for SP to come online with the 1861..... :(

Best wishes
Jean

 Sorry she died the month before the 1861 Census & I have no idea where they were living 1851. I am busy as Freecens coordinator for Clack.1841 Census- just begining so lord nows when the 1851/61 will be done.
I looked up the date for the Census hoping but she died 18th March.
