Hello.
I have a Janet Graham born c1826 to Peter Graham & Isabella Brown.
When I check the marriage for Peter & Isabella I get May 19, 1844.

Hi Dennis
Are you sure this is the right couple? Neither name is particularly unusual and in fact Brown is the most common name in Scotland. In my experience rather a lot of young women around that time were called Isabella! Perhaps your couple did not have their marriage recorded in the Established Church. It is rather a long time to wait to get married after the birth of a child though not impossible I guess.
On the subject of more unusual names where are your Blades from? I'm researching for a friend a Ruth Blades who married a McNair and lived in Kilmarnock and Ireland. She was however born in England and I think may have been born 1781 in St Albans to Cuthbert Blades and Elizabeth. Cuthbert Blades married Elizabeth Nicholson in 1765 in Richmond Yorkshire.

Hi Anne,
My Blades were a roving lot, though E. Lothian can claim a couple of them. The last one I have is Andrew, born in Fife in 1903; the earliest, also named Andrew born c1826 in Prestonpans, E. Lothian.
