Hello

I am looking for the death of Janet Swan m.s Calderwood. She died in 1849 sometine after the birth of her son 25 April 1849. Her husband Robert remarried 16 months later. Robert and Janet married in Mauchline Ayr in 1838 she may have been born there.

Hello Angel,
On the index for the 1841 census Robert Swan born abt 1821 and Janet Swan born abt 1816 are living in Beith,Ayrshire with Mary Swan born abt 1796.All are listed as being born in Ayrshire.

Hello Heather

Thank you for your reply but I have mislead you in my post :cry: it is only Janet (Calderwood) who was born in Ayr Robert was born in Lanarkshire. She moved to Glasgow where she had her children and died there. Many thanks for looking at the index for me.
