While building work is underway to link New Register House (home of the General Register Office for Scotland) to General Register House (home of the National Archives of Scotland) some facilities are temporarily moved or unavailable.
The East Search Room is closed, and its facilities shoe-horned into the South Search Room (the upstairs library that many NRH visitors never visit). Some of the PC based search facilities that usually live in the South Search Room have been moved into the Dome Search Room. This has resulted in a small reduction of the number of search places available.
The visitors lunch room is temporarily closed, so there is no place for the public to eat or drink in NRH in the meantime.
