Hi folks,
Not too sure if this Wikipedia page has been mentioned before?
Info on the old Scottish Counties and many towns & villages etc. contained within them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traditiona ... f_Scotland

I like the "See also" at the bottom of the page.

Just goes to show, as I've always argued, that somewhere out there on the www there is all the infomation that you have always wanted :!:

Although I haven't yet checked out all the links on this Wikipedia site, I'm more than distinctly impressed by what I've seen so far.

The information may well be contained in one of the links that I haven't yet seen, but the question of detached parts of 19th C counties, never mind parishes then and earlier dates back to the land ownership of the pre-Reformation church in Scotland...........
