Brydon death in Penicuik-lOOK UP PLEASE .....

Post by david black » Tue Jun 27, 2006 9:24 am

Help please.

I'm looking for a burial record or M.I. for Ann Brydon nee Laing who i suspect died in Penicuik between May 1836 (baptism of her last childin Penicuik) and 17th Dec 1838 (marriage of John Brydon and Agnes Cransto(n)-I think/hope this is Anns' husband re-marrying)

Thanks
dave black

Hi Dave

Sorry you've not had a reply yet - hopefully someone might see your post this time round and have some ideas for you.

Hi Dave
The Scottish Genealogy Society appear to have a book of MIs from Penicuik in their library - http://www.scotsgenealogy.com/library/monumental2.htm
might be worth contacting them:

Best wishes

You could also order the following film from your local LDS family history centre:
697. PENICUIK
697/1 B 1654-1766 M - D -
697/2 B 1770-1821 M - D -
697/3 B - M 1654-1819 D 1658-1819
697/4 B 1813-19, 1820-54 Contains index M 1820-54 D 1820-54

You could check out the births too whilst you were at it - that may explain the death, perhaps. I came across one of mine recently which stated:
  • 1775
W and his spouse X deceased had a daughter born third and baptised fourth June 1775 named Y.
which, sadly, pretty much pinpointed the date of death and the possible reason for it.
Best wishes
Lesley
