Catholic Records at NAS .....
Most of my family were catholics and I was thinking of a trip to Edinburgh to search out any info that the archives may have. My family all stayed in the Diocese of Motherwell. Has anyone examined these records and found anything of note?

There are also archives for certain parishes at the Glasgow Diocese Office at 196 Clyde Street, 0141226 5898 and I believe they are helpful. I intend to go soon and I'll post how I get on. Think it's mostly Glasgow & West of Scotland - it tells you on their website what records they hold. I think you have to phone first. Let us know how you get on in Edinburgh if you go.

Until 1948, Motherwell came under the Archdiocese of Glasgow, so a visit to the Curial Offices in Clyde Street would be useful, although I believe that NAS have copies of all the catholic parishes.
