Am I getting my timezones wrong? Is it not about 19 minutes past 00.00GMT? Attempts to access the databases show that I'm not subscribed. Aside from setting up my account, need I do anything more?

I found the same as Ina

I received the email advising of the "Free Access" seems like a con job to me.

I doubt it's a con job; more likely someone there is paying too little attention

They say "24 hours of free access", from 00.00GMT to 08.00GMT on 5 September ... my calculations say: that's either 8 hours (if the 00.00GMT
is at the start of the 5th) or 32 hours (if the 00.00GMT is at the start of the 4th. Perhaps they meant the start time is "08.00GMT" [on the 4th] :?:

[Or, reading their announcement again, perhaps it really *is* 24 hours of the US Labor [sic  ] Day, for all of the 4th of September -- counting in GMT -- plus eight extra hours on the 5th, but somebody there fell asleep at the switch?]

In any case, I'm not planning to stay awake until 04:00 (my local time) to test my first theory... but I'll try again tomorrow morning (as I celebrate the Canadian Labour Day  )

"One more thing..."

Upon logging in to that site and checking my "User Details", it shows
Our records show the following subscription information for this account:
o Free Origins Total Access - Sept 4th
o Access for Sept 4th
o Active
... but still, no access.

Hi Jay Pee,

Hope you're also planning to celebrate the American Labour Day tomorrow

It's now 6:44 pm here in California so should be 2:44 British time and I still can't get in. I'll keep checking the Origins site while you sleep :D :D :D .

Let me know if you get access Stew.

JayPee,

I get the same message when I login, but when I try to do a search it tells me "You are not currently subscribed to Irish Origins". If it's supposed to be a "free" day why should I have to subscribe to do a search?
