Katie,

Many Thanks for the info on the Ancestry site. Would you believe that I made an amazing find on Friday, which led to a conversation with the Gt Grandson of my Gt Grandmothers sister. :D :D :D

I decided to throw in some names I had been stuck on for a long time, just in case. I came across a border crossing document for my Mary Osler Binnie. She had crossed from Canada to Detroit to visit her cousin, Peter Christie. I had known that Mary had gone to Canada, but I didn't know that Peter had come to the US. I found lots more info on Peter and his descendants, which led me to his Gt Grandson in California. I took a chance and gave him a call. He was delighted to hear from me and we have agreed to keep in touch.

Now that I have gotten over the shock and excitement, I will be throwing a lot more names at Ancestry. You never know who'll be next to pop up.

Again, Many Thanks,

Christine.

Isn't it great when you get success stories like this? I am still on a mission to find my grandfathers location in Lithuania, but with the Hamburg Lists coming out soon on Ancestry it should be easier as his name is listed. So fingers X'd, and good luck to everyone else. :)
