Hello

Just found out from another site that Ancestry have added the 1851 & 1861 census indexes to their site.

As I understand it, it's parts only of the '51 and '61 censuses just at the moment.

As yet there's been no announcement, nor any indication on the Ancestry site that these datasets are in the process of being added. Sounds like some preparation work in the runup to the full launch.

Hi Angel & David,

Have just had a quick look on the 1861 for 3 rellies I've already got in Aberdeenshire, Lanarks & West Lothian and they are all there. If you search for a child the parents names are given so you can immediately see if they are the ones you want!!

Paula
Searching for Barclay Aberdeenshire, Stewart Edinburgh, Brown Edinburgh & Uphall, Finlayson E Lothian, Fairley & Renton E & W Lothian for starters!

Later

I've now heard that it may well be the complete '51 and '61 censuses.

Hi All

It seems to be complete. I have found the McDonalds that I have been looking for. \:D/ I have found the brothers and sister that I only suspected existed. I have found this family for the 1851 census, that I couldn't find before on SP! They had moved to another County.

It would have cost me a fortune to search through all the McDonalds on SP.
:D

Regards

Sheila
