Hello
Just thought I would post this site again for any new people who have relatives in Moray.
http://libindx.moray.gov.uk/mainmenu.asp
I am also willing to do look ups for Moray if anybody needs any doing.

Hi Heather
Have used this site several times while searching for connections to the names Revolta and more recently Ogg and found it to be very useful.

Thank you Heather!
I've found records of my husband's Gx5 or 6 grandfather on here and loads of snippets on my own side that I don't think I'd have come across otherwise.....including my Gx3 grandfather being done for breach of the peace in 1884...great!
I've had a great time, I was meant to be going to bed 2 hours ago...never mind eh!
Best wishes
Donna

Hi Heather,
Thanks for your very kind offer.
I did actually enquire at the Moray link on that website and they replied back that:
Unfortunately the newspaper report does not describe the breach of the peace. It merely says that James was highly temperamental after an accident and liquor had been involved. (
) He was fined 10s with the option of six days' imprisonment.
I love the bit about the option for 6 days imprisonment! I can see it now, "shall I, shan't I?"
k
The article itself is apparently in the Moray & Nairn Express, 31/5/1884, Page 4, Column 5. If there is any more to it I'd love to know, the impression my Gran gave of her family they were holier than thou.....on doing this tree me thinks not!
Thanks again for the link, I've even managed to find out bits about my husband's Gx5 or 6 grandfather who was one fo the sons of the Earl of Rothes and about his McKains who were Burgess's of Elgin, I've had a ball.
