Hi all,
I've been trying to collate all the names of the British civilians interned in Ruhleben civilian POW camp near Berlin throughout the First World War, as well as identify sources for those with relatives and ancestors interned there - my great uncle John Paton was a prisoner there, hence the interest!
Amongst the sources I've worked through are hundreds of articles from the Times and the Scotsman, as well as many publications printed by the prisoners themselves when imprisoned. If you can help, or if I might be able to help you, the website is at http://ruhleben.tripod.com
I look forward to hearing from you!
Chris

Hi Chris:
This is a very interesting site that you've developed. Apart from identifying specific interns, which is of more than passing interest to genealogists, you've provided a touching insight into camp life.
I'm sure there are a number of members who will be interested in what you offer, and who can add to your information.

Thanks Frances,
Glad you liked it! The site is due for a major update soon, as I had an article on it last month in Practical Family History that has generated a lot of new material, so I'll hopefully find the time soon to get it back up to speed!

Tracey I have print outs of all the Ruihleben stories on the Scotsman - if your uncle was listed in an article that mentioned the Ruhleben prisoners, I will happily look him up for you, and save you money on the website - which article was it that attracetd your attention, and what was your great grandfather's name?Tracey wrote:Hello Chris
