Post by pollywolly1 » Tue Jan 16, 2007 9:30 pm

Hello everyone, just joined today, seems a bit cheeky asking for advice, but im stuck. :? :?

Im looking for info on Margaret Heron or maybe Hutton Heron, born 1915 in Dumfries, died 1995 ish.

im also new to searching will i have to get hold of her birth cert, to find out who her parents where ?

I know she married in 1940s a Horace Fred Breen.
I cant find anything on her just comes up blank.

Anything at all would be great
Thanks P

There is a 100 year rule on Scottish birth records online. You'll have to request a copy of the birth certificate from GROS I'm afraid.

Unfortunately, they really need definite info to do a search for you. Having said that, if you knew her parents names, you might be able to get their pre-1931 marriage entry on Scotlands People (Blue link near top of page). It's a pity you don't have that. It would probably help them to find her.

Hi Mary, thanks for the names, believe it or not its my husbands mum, she was quite old when he was born and died in her 80s when he was 38 but never told him about her parents apart from the fact his grandfather was a postmaster in Dumfries after being injured in first world war ( lost a leg), I will get hold of a birth cert, then i wont hit a brick wall.
Thanks again Pauline
