Trade Directories

Post by JosiahS » Sun Feb 11, 2007 10:32 am

Could anyone please tell me if there are any trade directories for Edinburgh and Aberdeen online?

I need the period from about 1880 to about 1920.

Many thanks

Hi JoS
any trade directories for Edinburgh and Aberdeen online?
Not that I am aware of, but someone else may know of a source.

The Scottish Genealogy Society have many in their librbary and some they sell on CD. The Edinburgh Room would also have a full set for Edinburgh.

The Aberdeen ones aren't online, but the Central Library have a full set.

Thanks for that - unfortunately I'm in London that's why I was hoping they might be online.

You can ask the library staff to look through some of them for you! It is a shame they're not online. It would be so handy!
