I have the following lead and not much else.
Being an unusual surname I contacted the Guild of One-Name Studies.
The administrator has 33 Margaret's not connected to any family yet.
I was wondering if we had any McIlwrick's perusing our website.

Robert Fergusson married Mary McLelland 17 Nov 1809 Dailly, Ayrshire

Robert is son of
James Fergusson/Margaret McIlwrick married 17 Mar 1718 Dailly, Ayrshire.

Thanks for that. I had already entered McIlwrick on the IGI and had 124 results just for Ayrshire.

The possibilities of getting any further than 1718 are somewhat remote.

But like a wee terrier I dinnae give up easily.
